Marcus Rashford sends message after making 300th Man Utd appearance vs Norwich

Marcus Rashford has hailed the "special feeling" he gets when playing for Manchester United following his 300th appearance for the club.

The forward made a goalscoring debut for the Red Devils in the Europa League back in 2016 and has gone on to become a regular at the club he joined as an eight-year-old. Rashford is part of a rich academy history and came off the bench to make the landmark outing on Saturday.

United saw off Norwich City with the 25-year-old coming on for the final 16 minutes. He posted on social media: "Always a special feeling to pull on this shirt. Thank you @ManUtd ". Rashford has scored 93 times for United since making his debut, winning four honours in that time, the last of which was the Europa League back in 2017.

Rashford has been questioned this season however with his future seemingly in some doubt. The England international has been used as a No 9 and a wide forward, but his failure to settle on a position has, in the eyes of some, prevented his development.

Rashford missed the early months of the campaign as he underwent surgery following the Euro 2020 final. The United man was among those to miss from the spot and there appears to have been a major hangover in recent months.

Reports have suggested his entourage are weighing up their next move, which could be a switch away from Old Trafford. Rashford's contract does expire in the summer of 2023, although there is an option for a further year. United are keen to holds talks regarding an extension.

Will Rashford still be at Man Utd next season? Let us know in the comments

Despite that critics have continued to question Rashford and his performances. He has cut a figure bereft of confidence in recent months and Gary Neville commented on a recent snub that saw Rangnick opt to play without a striker despite Rashford being available.

He said after the draw with Leicester City: "I was struggling a little bit with it before the game without the centre forward. That’s killed Marcus Rashford today… not playing in that team. I know he’s been poor, I know he’s lacked confidence.

"But for Cristiano Ronaldo to pull out this morning and for Paul Pogba to go in and change the system of play and the way in which the game has been approached and not just put Marcus Rashford in as a striker as a straight swap having trained with the players the last 10 days…"
