Marcus Rashford scare for Manchester United along with three other injuries in Champions League battle with Liverpool

Manchester United could be without Marcus Rashford for the second successive match as they prepare to take on Bournemouth this weekend.

The Red Devils will be looking to halt Liverpool's late push for a top-four finish by earning all three points on the South Coast tomorrow afternoon, though may have to find the goals without the services of their leading scorer.

Rashford was absent for United's 2-0 victory over Wolves last weekend and is now a doubt for his side's latest Premier League fixture after falling ill, Erik ten Hag revealed today at his pre-match press conference.

"Rashy trained well the whole week but today he reported that he is ill," explained the Dutchman. "We have to see how he recovers during the day and see tomorrow."

One positive for United is that defender Raphael Varane is again available for selection after being taken off late off against Wolves as a precaution. Midfielder Scott McTominay, meanwhile, has returned to training having been out since early April and could be involved in the matchday squad to face Bournemouth.

"So a positive, Varane is definitely available,’ said Ten Hag. "Scott joined in training. When we find how well he does in training, then we know if he will be in."

Marcel Sabitzer, Lisandro Martinez and Donny van de Beek have no chance in featuring, having each been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
