Marcus Rashford's stance on Man Utd future as transfer claims dismissed

Marcus Rashford is determined to win back his Manchester United place and prove his worth to the club.

Rashford and his representatives have dismissed suggestions the England striker is considering his United future over a lack of game-time.

Under interim boss Ralf Rangnick, Rashford has started just two of United’s last 11 Premier League games and came off the bench in S unday's 4-1 derby defeat at Manchester City.

Although Rashford is frustrated at not starting more games, those close to him say he understands that is down to his current poor form, something he knows he must address.

Rashford, who has made 295 appearances for United, scoring 93 goals, is under contract until the end of next season, although the club have an option to extend it by a year.

Despite Rashford's recent poor form, United are understood to be ready to trigger that clause, if only to protect the forward's market value, which is currently around £70million.

Although Rangnick chose not to start Rashford in the derby, despite being without Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani, United's interim boss still has faith in the 24-year-old.

“With Marcus, we have another player who I have continuously been behind and will work with, to develop him,” said Rangnick.

"We've seen that with other players in the past and I don’t see why this shouldn’t happen with Marcus.

“He’s got abundant talent, he’s got the pace, the physicality. He’s got everything you need for a modern striker, not only if he is playing from the wing or in the centre.

"I'll put all my energy in that to help him to take the same pathway that other players did in the last three months.”
