Marcus Rashford's Representatives Hold Talks With AC Milan

The representatives of Marcus Rashford have held talks with AC Milan over a potential loan move for the Manchester United star.

AC Milan Want United Outcast Rashford

AC Milan’s interest in Marcus Rashford came to light earlier this month, with the forward seeking a new challenge away from Manchester United.

The Daily Mail have reported that Rashford’s brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, was in Milan on Tuesday for talks with the Serie A club.

Further talks are expected with the Serie A side over a potential loan move until the end of the season. However, they do face competition from other European sides.

Borussia Dortmund are also keen, while clubs including Juventus and Galatasaray have expressed interest.

Rashford’s former United team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic is senior advisor to the owners at AC Milan.

The Serie A side have struggled for goals this season and are eighth in the league table.

A move to AC Milan could see him link up with a number of English players already at the club.

That includes Tammy Abraham, who netted a stoppage-time winner is a 3-2 victory over rivals Inter Milan in the Italian Super Cup on Monday.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori are also at AC Milan – though the latter has been linked with a move away from the club.

Famous English Stars To Play For The Rossoneri

Should Marcus Rashford join AC Milan on loan, he will join a list of high-profile English players to don the famous red and black shirt.

He could follow in the footsteps of David Beckham, who joined AC Milan on loan for the second-half of both the 2008-09 and 09-10 seasons from LA Galaxy.

The legendary Jimmy Greaves spent one season at the club after joining from Chelsea in June 1961. However, he spent just six months in Italy before joining Tottenham for the unusual fee of £99,999. That fee was intended to relieve Greaves of the pressure of being the first ever £100,000 player in British football.

Luther Blisset moved to AC Milan for £1m in 1983 and made 30 appearances for the club. He returned to the club who sold him, Watford, a year later for £550,000.

Ray Wilkins managed to last three years at AC Milan after joining from Manchester United in 1984. He made 105 appearances for the club before having a brief spell at PSG before joining Rangers.

Mark Hately also made 86 appearances during the mid-1980s after joining from Portsmouth in the same year as Wilkins. He also left for France for Ligue 1 side Monaco.
