Marcus Rashford injury: Manchester United to learn scan results amid fears of long lay-off

Manchester United are set to learn the extent of Marcus Rashford's injury amid fears the striker will be sidelined for weeks.

Rashford limped out of United's 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday after pointing to his groin and asking to be substituted.

United have already ruled their 28-goal forward out of Thursday's Europa League quarter-final first leg against Sevilla at Old Trafford, and will on Monday have more of an idea on how long he faces on the sidelines.

Rashford has undergone a scan, the results of which will arrive on Monday, and The Sun reports that privately the club are concerned the striker could miss much of the run-in, with United in a fight to finish fourth.

Should Rashford be sidelined for a number of weeks, he could miss the second leg against Sevilla, a FA Cup semi-final against Brighton and Premier League games against Nottingham Forest and top-four rival Tottenham.

Anthony Martial is the obvious replacement for Rashford. He came on against Everton on Saturday to score his first goal in over two months, and was assisted by the England international.
