Marcus Rashford believes Manchester United were 'calmer' with and without the ball in Wednesday's win over Brentford.
It was a much-needed return to winning ways for United who risked playing themselves into serious trouble in the race for a top-four place if they suffered successive defeats. Erik ten Hag's side slumped to a limp 2-0 loss at Newcastle on Sunday in their return to action following the international break.
United never looked like winning and the defeat eventually saw them slip down to fifth as the Magpies leapfrogged them to third and Tottenham's draw with Everton on Monday saw them move into fourth on goal difference. Wednesday's victory means United are back in fourth, though, level on points with Newcastle and three above Spurs with a game in hand.

After the win over the Bees, Rashford explained what United did differently than at St. James' Park. "We were calmer in and out of possession, we got a few simple passes off and the runs became clearer to the players on the ball," he told Match of the Day.
"It's another busy month for us, every game is a big game and we have an opportunity to keep moving up the table in the league and getting to the next stages of competitions. It's a massive month but we're looking forward to it.
"The main was to win, we played much better football and better out of possession. The type of performance you can build on. It wasn't easy or simple but very happy with the three points.
"They are difficult to break down, they defend well in a block of five or six players and you have to wait for openings. It's a very clever pass from Antony and it ends up a simple goal but it was quite tough to break them down."
It was Rashford who got the winner in the first half as he emphatically finished off an intricate move which saw Antony dink the ball over the defence for Marcel Sabitzer to nod down into the striker's path. It's the 28th goal of the season for Rashford but he insists his main focus remains on picking up wins.
"I'm enjoying myself, the main aim for me is just to keep trying to win football matches for the club and try and get as deep into the season as we can," he added. "We need to try and get as many points as we can. We know the two teams at the top are running away with it a little bit but it's important for us and our own growth and development to keep winning games and see how many points we can finish on at the end of the season."
