Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard lived up to their pre-match promise after Manchester United suffered a 3-1 defeat by fellow Champions League chasers Arsenal on Saturday.
The Red Devils fell behind thanks to Nuno Tavares' early opener before Bukayo Saka doubled Arsenal's advantage from the penalty spot - his second goal in as many games. Although Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back for his 100th Premier League goal, Granit Xhaka sealed the win in the 70th minute as the Gunners moved six points clear of their rivals in the fight for a top-four place.
Despite falling to a second successive defeat, United duo Rashford and Lingard still kept to their word after the game having agreed to hand their match-worn shirts to a group of Arsenal's Under-9s, according to Daily Mail journalist Adrian Kajumba.
An adult with the players asked Rashford and Lingard at an 'earlier point in the afternoon' if they would be able to give their jerseys to the young fans. The pair remembered and made their way over to them at full-time.
Kajumba claimed the moment 'looked like they made the day for those kids' following United's defeat. The two England internationals were named on the bench for the trip to the Emirates Stadium as Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga led the line with Bruno Fernandes in the No.10 role.
Rashford started as the lone striker in the 4-0 thrashing against Liverpool last Tuesday, but Ronaldo was recalled to the side after missing the game at Anfield after the tragic death of his baby.

Meanwhile, Lingard also started in midweek but dropped to the bench after failing to impress, with Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay as the double-pivot. But the pair came on in the 77th minute with United trailing 3-1 and were unable to change the Red Devils' fortunes as they slumped to a third loss in four matches.
It means Ralf Rangnick has just a 40 per cent win rate during his time in charge - the lowest out of the last five managers in the United dugout since Sir Alex Ferguson stood down in 2013.
With just four games to play, it is looking increasingly unlikely United will qualify for the Champions League next season. Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are four and six points ahead respectively having played a game fewer. The Red Devils are next in action when they host Chelsea on Thursday night. They still have to face Brentford, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion before the end of the Premier League season.
