Marcus Rashford among Manchester United players returning to Carrington ahead of Man City derby fixture

Manchester United players have been pictured back at Carrington ahead of their derby clash against Man City this weekend. Erik ten Hag's side are in rejuvenated form heading into their first Manchester derby clash of the new season and will be hoping to keep that run going with another impressive performance.

United know they will need to be at their best if they are to stand any chance of getting something against Pep Guardiola's side, and ahead of the match they have welcomed a host of first-team players back to training.

United had already welcomed back a host of players involved in international duty earlier in the week, with their latest batch of first-teamers pictured at the training ground on Friday morning.

Marcus Rashford was seen driving into training as he faces a late fight to be fit in time for the clash on Sunday afternoon. The academy graduate picked up a muscle injury after scoring twice in the win over Arsenal that ruled him out of the following Europa League matches.

Harry Maguire drove himself into training despite picking up a knock while in action for England. The 29-year-old was seen limping following the 3-3 draw with Germany on Monday night and is considered doubtful for the derby clash this weekend.

Cristiano Ronaldo was also seen back at Carrington, and he could be in line to start this weekend given recent injuries to Rashford and Anthony Martial. The duo did not represent their respective nations over the recent international break and are yet to be pictured back in training ahead of Sunday's trip to the Etihad.

Ten Hag has also been boosted by the return of his South American contingent, many of whom were involved in matches on Tuesday night. Fred and Antony both featured for Brazil in their 5-1 win over Tunisia in Paris but were amongst those pictured arriving back at Carrington.

Lisandro Martinez was also spotted having been involved in Argentina's 3-0 victory over Jamaica that took place in New York in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
