Marco Tilio thrives in hidden Celtic transfer audition as Harry Kewell spots flair factor in new Parkhead star

Harry Kewell has provided an insight into what Celtic fans can expect from Marco Tilio, with his interview alongside the Socceroos star resurfaced.

The Melbourne City forward looks bound for Parkhead after the A-League club and the Premiership champions agreed upon a fee. It will continue the worldwide recruitment strategy thrust into gear by Ange Postecoglou after new boss Brendan Rodgers completed the signing of Norwegian Odin Thiago Holm earlier this week, but what are they getting from their import from down under? Celtic coach Kewell is sticking about for Rodgersmania part two and during the World Cup in Qatar last winter, he interviewed the 21-year-old revving up for Graham Arnold's side's Qatar assault.

Kewell, working with SBS, asked Tilio 'the one question I want to ask Marco is how you get in this team. I have seen a bit about you, you have a bit of flair, a bit of style, how you gonna get in this first team?'

Faced with a legend of his nation, it would be easy to get spooked. But the forward was confident in response, saying: "For me ever since I came into camp, it was controlling what I can control. That's training well, doing the right thins, eating, sleeping, doing my recovery, and if I get that opportunity to play I am at peak performance to play."

That will be music to Rodgers' ears, who said at his Friday unveiling in response to a question on the strength of Rangers that Celtic 'will purely be on Celtic and improving us as a team.' And when Kewell asked 'what are we gonna see' if he's given an opportunity, Tilio again was confident. He said: "A lot of energy, full of confidence and always for coming off the bench it is trying to make an impact on the games. Hopefully I can do that if given the opportunity and that is the big thing, to bring energy, confidence and impact.

Kewell murmured 'excellent' under his breath, and little did he know the pair would be working daily with each other in Glasgow less than a year later. Or did he? Either way, the attacker has gone on to score nine goals with five assists for Melbourne this season but didn't get to strut the stuff he soon will in Glasgow over in the middle-east.
