Marco Rose rules out Rangers clash rotation as Dortmund set to go all guns blazing

Marcos Rose insists Borussia Dortmund will go all guns blazing at Rangers as he vowed to pick the strongest team available.

The Bundesliga giants are six points adrift of Bayern Munich domestically but their boss is keen on making a big statement in the Europa League.

Having dropped in from the Champions League, Dortmund are heavy favourites against the Scottish Premiership champions, even in the absence of star striker Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian superstar won't feature at the Wesfalenstadion on Thursday night but Rose is otherwise ready to go full strength.

Asked if he was considering rotating to prioritise the league, Rose said: "I want the best 11 players to be on the pitch, and that will be the case tomorrow.

"We'll see how fit the boys are. The team that we think is in the best shape will play tomorrow.

"We're playing against a strong opponent in the play-off round and we have to do our jobs.

"For us, it's about becoming more consistent in terms of our performances and results. If we can do that, we have a good team and could go very far."

In addition to Haaland, Marius Wolf is also out injured while Emre Can is suspended due to the red card he received in the Champions League match against Sporting.

Gio Reyna could be back in the squad after sitting out Sunday's game against Union Berlin with an upset stomach.

The 19-year-old American is named after Rangers manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst, who is a former team-mate of his father Claudio Reyna.

The two families remain close and this will be the first time young Reyna has come up against Van Bronckhorst.

Rose said: "I think if Gio (Reyna) plays he wants to show to his godfather, or name-giver, what he learned over the years.

"I think Van Bronckhorst already knew him when Gio (Reyna) still s*** in his pants (as a child).

"I know they meet privately every now and then, and the focus is now on being successful, but of course it's a nice story.

"It's really cool that things like this can happen in football; being the godfather and meeting at that level now."

Asked about the threat Rangers possess, Rose said: "They're a team that has physicality and speed, creates goals down the flanks, but can link up through the middle too.

"We want to play our own game. We want to control the match, be dominant and find solutions with the ball."
