Marco Reus' agents spotted at Man Utd as Borussia Dortmund contract winds down

Marco Reus' agents were spotted watching Manchester United's win over Manchester City on Saturday afternoon as the Borussia Dortmund star weighs up his future.

The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has already confirmed he is considering his options ahead of a possible free transfer in the summer. Reus admitted he is having talks over his future as he deliberates whether to stay at Dortmund or leave Signal Iduna Park after 11 years at the club.

According to reports, Al-Nassr are plotting a move for the veteran wideman as they want him to become the next big name to make the switch to the Saudi Pro League. This is after Cristiano Ronaldo joined the club in a £173million-per-year deal following his acrimonious release from Manchester United.

Reus' representatives were at Old Trafford to watch United's 2-1 victory against City over the weekend. Agents Dirk Hebel and Darren Freeman were present as the Red Devils secured their first Manchester Derby win in four matches.

However, this has only fuelled the fire over a potential move to United for Reus, who has been linked with a switch to the Red Devils in the past. And with Erik ten Hag reportedly in the market for strength in depth in the attacking department, Reus could be a different option that United are missing, despite his age.

When speaking about his future, Reus openly confirmed that he is debating his options, with a move to the Premier League a real possibly given his ability and impressive form in Europe. He has scored three goals and provided four assists in 12 games this season, but missed the World Cup with Germany through injury.

Reus said: "That's what I have an agent for – to take care of these things. Of course, you look ahead. I still have half a year left on my contract, I have to think about it. We will have talks and see in which direction it goes. We'll see what the future brings."

Meanwhile, agent Hebel told German outlet BILD : "It is quite normal that other clubs are interested in a player like Marco, whose contract expires in six months. Marco has always emphasised how much BVB (Dortmund) is close to his heart, but also that he wants to continue playing football. So, it's only natural that we have to look at other options."

Reus was linked with a move to United in 2015, when Louis van Gaal was in charge. Speaking after his departure, Van Gaal name-dropped the German when discussing players he admired.

"They played aggressive and pressing football that Jurgen Klopp is now showing with Liverpool," he said of Dortmund. "At that time, the German teams were not used to that. He also had a very good squad with players like Robert Lewandowski, Marco Reus and Mats Hummels, for example."
