Arsenal are rumoured to be interested in signing Real Madrid's Marco Asensio this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options.
According to a report in the Mirror, Asensio's representatives have confirmed that Arsenal are interested in bringing the 26-year-old to the Emirates this summer. The Gunners are set for another busy summer transfer window with a number of players set to leave or out of contract at the end of the season.
The Real Madrid playmaker has played a supporting role at the Bernabeu under Carlo Ancelotti, scoring 10 goals in his 34 appearances in all competitions. Whilst it is believed Madrid want to keep Asensio at the club, the Spain international is yet to decide his future and could leave the club in search of regular first team football after only averaging 50 minutes per match in the 2021/22 campaign.

"We are proud of Milan’s interest," said Asensio's agents, as quoted by Sportmediaset. "The Rossoneri [Milan] are an option even if there are offers from a couple of English clubs, including Arsenal. We are ready to evaluate every option."
Speculation continues to grow regarding Asensio's future at the Spanish giants, especially considering he will likely drop down the pecking order in attack should Madrid sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer this summer.
Martin Odegaard made the switch from Madrid to Arsenal and has been brilliant under Arteta since nailing down a starting spot in the team. Asensio could look to follow a similar path should his opportunities for regular starts fade away, but a potential move north London could depend on if the Gunners qualify for the Champions League.
