Former England defender Danny Mills has questioned whether Marcelo Bielsa is a Leeds United legend.
The Whites confirmed that they had parted company with the 66-year-old on Sunday morning after three-and-a-half years at the club.
It proved to be a memorable spell for the Argentine, who guided the Whites back to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years and helped them to a nine-place finish last season.
During his time at Elland Road, Bielsa totally transformed the club's fortunes on and off the pitch, winning 80 of his 170 games in charge, becoming the longest-serving manager for over a decade.
However, Mills, who started his career at Leeds, isn't sure whether he deserves a 'legend' status but praised Bielsa for what he achieved.
He told talkSPORT: "Legend is a difficult one. In recent history, without a doubt he's the man. He's a god, he's got them back in the Premier League after 16 managers tried.
"To get them back there from where they were with the same mid-table Championship team is outstanding. The first season in the Premier League was incredible, not dissimilar to what Chris Wilder did with Sheffield United in all honesty.
"But what happened to him? Unfortunately football evolves and moves on. When you talk about legends at Leeds, I mean you're going back to the 1960s and 1970s, even when they won the league under Howard Wilkinson.
"There's another level to Marcelo Bielsa, the likes of Don Revie and Wilkinson. All those greats like Eddie Gray when he was the manager for a period as well."
