Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has had to deal with several injuries throughout this season.
Over the past month Leeds have routinely been missing upwards of five first-team players for each of their Premier League and FA Cup fixtures.
Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo and Adam Forshaw have sustained fresh injuries recently and their availability for this week's game against Aston Villa has been in the balance since the Whites last played.
Given two weeks have passed since Leeds' most recent run-out in the league, there was hope that ample opportunity for rest and recuperation had allowed those with injuries time to recover.
Marcelo Bielsa has issued an update on that particular matter, including news on Patrick Bamford's situation as he bids to make a first start for five months over the coming weeks.
"Bamford hasn't improved. He continues with the problems at the bottom of his foot and he hasn't started jogging. So his situation continues the same way."
Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper were pictured back in training last week, but it is understood the pair did not partake in rigorous activity with the rest of the squad, and are unlikely to be involved at Villa Park.
This is standard procedure for players returning from lengthy muscular injuries, as Phillips and Cooper are.
"Cooper and Phillips are in the final stages of their recovery from their operations," he said, implying everything was on track.
Bielsa did have positive news on Junior Firpo, though. He asserted the Spanish full-back would be available for selection again shortly.
"Firpo is in the final stage of his recovery. He will be available next weekend or the following one."
