Marcelo and his son copy Cristiano Ronaldo celebration after Real Madrid academy goal

It might be four years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid, but the Manchester United ace’s influence is clearly still strong at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo of course spent nine years in Spain, during which time he broke all manner of records and claimed countless pieces of silverware. It was also during his time at Real that we first began to see his trademark celebration.

Since then, we’ve seen the Portugal international’s famous cry of ‘siuuu’ on all sorts of stages, including back at United. And plenty of others have imitated him, including one of his former Madrid team-mates and his son.

Marcelo played alongside Ronaldo throughout his time at Real, and has gone on to enjoy even more success following his former team-mate’s departure. The Brazilian claimed his sixth La Liga crown and fifth Champions League winners’ medal last season before bringing an end to his time with the Spanish giants.

He’ll be hoping his son Enzo can follow in his footsteps though, and the youngster has already begun to make an impact. A video shared online showed Enzo powering home a header for Real’s academy in a recent game.

It was the sort of goal Ronaldo himself would have been proud of, and the father and son pair took the comparison one step further. Enzo immediately sprang into the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s trademark celebration, with the camera quickly cutting to his dad to show Marcelo doing exactly the same.

Enzo isn’t the only young player performing the famous ‘siuuu’ celebration – Ronaldo’s own son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, has been seen emulating his father, while Alejandro Garnacho has also paid homage to his idol on a number of occasions. It looks like Ronaldo’s influence is set to continue into the next generation of players.
