Marc Roca says Arsenal display must be 'point of reflection' for Leeds United

Marc Roca believes Leeds United must use Sunday’s performance against Arsenal as a ‘point of reflection’ ahead into their upcoming fixtures. The Whites were beaten 1-0 by the Premier League leaders but produced one of their best displays of the season.

Jesse Marsch’s side dominated Arsenal for almost the entirety of the second half and created an abundance of chances that on another day would’ve been taken. Ultimately, though, Leeds’ defeat extended their winless run to six matches in the league ahead of a crucial run of fixtures before the World Cup break.

Leeds head to struggling Leicester City on Thursday before hosting Fulham just three days later and will be looking to turn performances into wins. Speaking in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds, Roca thinks that Leeds have now set a standard they must follow and says the players are confident that victories will arrive soon.

He said: “I think it was a good match for us, we did a good performance. It will be a point of reflection for us because we had a good plan, we were confident, we were good in the pressing and on the ball.

“We could feel that our fans were next to us and I think what what we want on Thursday is to win the three points and to enjoy it because we deserved the victory and our fans deserve it too.

“I thought I did a good performance, it could be one of the best but the most important was to win the three points. It was not possible and the sensation that you have when you lose a game, you can play very good, but if you don’t win it’s difficult.

“It was a good game for me, it was a good game for the team and it’s the way we have to follow. We are pushing, training hard every day and I think the results are coming because we have a good team, have good staff and we believe in what we are doing.”
