Leeds United summer signing Marc Roca has called his side “unlucky” after their unbeaten start to the season was ended with a 1-0 defeat at Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
The Spanish midfielder, a summer addition from Bayern Munich, had started every Premier League match of the season so far for Jesse Marsch’s side and it was no different down on the south coast where Pascal Gross’s second-half strike proved the difference between the two sides.
Speaking to LUTV, the 25-year-old said: “I think it was not our best performance. I think first half was hard for us. Second half we start better. But they [Brighton] score and we couldn’t score. It’s a disappointment for us but we have another chance on Tuesday.

“It was a very different match [compared to Chelsea]. I think against Chelsea we created the perfect performance. We play at home with our fans, here we started not good, they started well, they played good.
“They [Brighton] know how they have to play and I think [there’s] a lot of things to improve but like I said we have another opportunity on Tuesday and we keep on going.
“Well I think we have our opportunities they have as well their opportunities. The match could be 1-0, could be 0-1, at the end they won. There are other things to improve and we keep on going.”
The midfielder added that manager Marsch made some adjustments during the interval to prompt a brighter second half display. “He said we have to change a little bit our adjustments,” Roca explained. “I think second half was better for us but we were unlucky today.”
United won’t have much time to sulk over the defeat with a home game against winless Everton next up in the calendar, scheduled for Tuesday evening with the Leeds newbie keen to show a reaction.
“This game is finished,” the Spaniard exclaimed. “We have another opportunity. We have to be ready because it will be hard but we want to win and we play at home.”
