Marc Guehi error, Conor Gallagher underwhelming: Crystal Palace player ratings vs Leicester

Vicente Guaita - 6

Some nervous moments at the start of the match when playing out from the back. Could have done better for the opener but little he could do about Dewsbury-Hall's finish into the top corner.

Tyrick Mitchell - 6

Went down injured in the first half before receiving a very soft booking. Was substituted soon after and replaced by Joel Ward.

Marc Guehi - 5

Made an error that allowed Patson Daka to get the ball and square for Dewsbury-Hall to smash in the second.

Joachim Andersen - 5

Should have done much better with his free header from a corner during the first half and then got twisted by Lookman for the opener. Wasn't as accurate with his passing and handed Leicester a good chance to score after scything down Daka on the edge of the box.

Nathaniel Clyne - 5

Was wrong-footed by Dewsbury-Hall's pass into Lookman for the opener and didn't offer much going forward. Was always going to be difficult creating chances on the right side behind Ayew.

Cheikhou Kouyate - 5

Could have done more to stop Dewsbury-Hall's shot for the second goal but instead got nothing on it as it flew into the top corner. Was taken off on the hour mark for James McArthur without having influenced much.

Jeffrey Schlupp - 7

Made some terrific runs and passes against his former club and set Zaha away for a good chance in the first half. Linked well with Eze after the Englishman's introduction, which will please Vieira ahead of Wembley next week.

Conor Gallagher - 5

Played as a second striker at times when Palace were pressing high up the pitch but failed to make much happen during the first 45 minutes. Was hooked during the second half for Ebere Eze.

Wilfried Zaha - 6

Got an early shot off but failed to test Schmeichel with it. Had little influence for the remainder of the first half. Took two poor penalties that were both saved but managed to head home the rebound for the second to halve the deficit.

Jean-Philippe Mateta - 6

Always sought to get a shot away and managed to test Kasper Schmeichel with a powerful effort during the first half to force a corner. Didn't have many chances after that to impact the game but kept running and offering for the ball until the final whistle.

Jordan Ayew - 6

Struggled going forward in the first half when he couldn't find his feet. Linked up with Eze well after he came on and quickly won a penalty which Zaha eventually scored from at the second attempt.

Substitutes

Joel Ward (for Tyrick Mitchell 34') - 6

Not the way in which he'd have envisaged getting back into the team but he did well on the opposite side to his preferred right flank.

James McArthur (for Cheikhou Kouyate 58') - 7

Offered a quicker tempo in midfield to Kouyate which subsequently gave Palace more time on the ball in important areas. Should start at Wembley.

Ebere Eze (for Conor Gallagher 58') - 7

Made an instant impact after his introduction as Palace got on the front foot more. Always wanted to play forwards and put some dangerous crosses into the Leicester box from free-kicks.
