Brighton chairman confirms stance on Marc Cucurella
Manchester City have not made a bid for Marc Cucurella, Brighton chairman Tony Bloom has confirmed.
City have signed Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega this summer, with Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho, Romeo Lavia and Darko Gyabi leaving on permanent transfers. Raheem Sterling is set for an exit to Chelsea, having agreed personal terms, while City continue to be linked with Brighton left-back Cucurella to strengthen their full-back options.
However, it seems that Brighton are keen to hold on to the Spaniard, with their chairman issuing a blunt update to official club media. Asked if he could reassure fans over Cucurella's future, Bloom said: "All I can say about Marc is he is a tremendous player, a tremendous person.

Julian Alvarez jersey number confirmed
Julian Alvarez has been given the number 19 shirt at Manchester City, paving the way for Erling Haaland to wear the number nine squad number.
Alvarez has finished his loan spell at River Plate after sealing a £14m transfer to City in January. Now, he will join the City squad for their pre-season preparations next week after scoring 17 goals in 24 appearances since February in Argentina. He is City's second new striker ahead of the new season following the £51m arrival of Haaland.
Both players need new squad numbers, and with Gabriel Jesus signing for Arsenal, the number nine shirt is vacant for one of them to take, while the number seven shirt could soon be available too with Raheem Sterling close to joining Chelsea.
