Marc Cucurella has already revealed his dream transfer amid Man City interest

Brighton defender Marc Cucurella has already mapped out his dream transfer amid interest from Manchester City this summer. Cucurella has been earmarked as a target for Pep Guardiola and the Premier League champions have already seen one bid for his services knocked back.

After winning a fourth title in five seasons, Guardiola decided to freshen up his star-studded team this summer. Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips have signed up with three high-profile players departing.

Raheem Sterling joined Chelsea after seven years with City and the club also waved goodbye to Gabriel Jesus and Ukraine defender Oleksandr Zinchenko. Both are now Arsenal players after teaming up with their former City coach, Mikel Arteta, for a combined fee totaling around £75million.

Zinchenko leaving means City are in the market for a left-back and Cucurella fits the bill there. He impressed in his debut season for Brighton after touching down in the Premier League from Getafe last summer. Before that the 24-year-old progressed through the famous La Masia system at Barcelona.

However, the five-cap Spain international only made one first-team appearance for the Catalans. But he dreams he will be able to add to that tally at some stage in his career.

Speaking about his ambitions in November, the Brighton defender told Sport: "In the end, I've been there for many years at Barca. We could say that it's my home and my family or my wife's, who is from Barcelona. I have a thorn in my side because I made my debut in the first-team, but I was never able to play at Nou Camp. I think it's something I'd like to do before I retire or leave football."

Cucurella might not necessarily have to return to Barcelona to achieve that target, though, as he could potentially line-up for City at the iconic stadium in the Champions League or other European competitions.
