He was also charged with committing fraud by false representation in connection with separate allegations regarding use of a stolen bank card at a store in the Radford area of Nottingham on 25 February 2022.

Henry pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison for burglary and 6 weeks consecutive for fraud, making a total of 24 weeks. He has also been ordered to pay £200 compensation for the charity box and £78.98 for the fraud.

When the charity box thefts were discovered, the pub owner labelled the thief "the very worst of humanity". Owner David Murphy, 55, had said: "I couldn't believe it when I was told. It's disgusting. I can't imagine anybody going out to try and do this, it's pretty unbelievable. To them - it's just money. They don't think about anything else. They're the very worst of humanity."

Sergeant Rebecca O’Connor, of the Gedling neighbourhood policing team, said: “Nottinghamshire Police treats all reports of burglary and fraud incredibly seriously and continues to do all it can to seek justice for victims of these kind of distressing offences.”
