A cafe described by reviewers as friendly with "hot chocolate to die for" and the "best sausage rolls ever" has announced it will be closing for good later this month. Holy Cannoli, in Plains Road, Mapperley, will shut down on Saturday, September 24, after four years of serving hot drinks, breakfast, cakes, milkshakes, paninis and, of course, cannoli, the Italian pastries filled with cream that it's named after.
The owners revealed the news on Facebook to their "wonderful customers", saying: "Sadly Holy Cannoli is closing down on the 24th September. We want to extend our thanks to all the loyal customers who have supported us over the years we’ve been open.
"This fantastic journey wouldn’t have been possible without you all. However, after sincere thought and consideration, we have made the decision to close our doors. If anyone wants to keep in touch, feel free to talk to any of the staff before we close."

Fans are upset they're going to lose the cafe. One said: "It's such a shame as it's the best cafe I [have] ever known, great staff involved with customers and such a friendly community hotspot. Very vibrant atmosphere where you are so welcomed.
"The food and drinks are superb. We all going to miss the the staff and the community. Thanks and many wishes to the staff for the future."
Another customer commented: "So very sorry to hear that. Going to really miss you all. Not only is you food and coffee lovely but you are also a hub for people to meet. I would often come for coffee and there would always be someone there you would know. All the staff are lovely and we will miss you all. Good luck to you all for the future."
