To celebrate the coronation of King Charles on May 6, Eden Project Communities are holding a special version of their The Big Lunch events, specifically catered around the Royal family and the Coronation.
After starting in 2009, the idea of The Big Lunch has attracted massive numbers of people across the country, with millions turning out for The Big Jubilee Lunch, put on to celebrate the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
These events are taking place all over the UK, with over 50 events currently planned in the North East. Some of these are private events such as street parties, but others are public events at places such as Newcastle Cathedral, Kingston Park and Houghton-le-Spring.
It is easy to see all of the events on offer in the area, by looking at the interactive Big Lunch Map, which is on the Eden project Communities website. From there, once you have found the event that suits you, click on it to see a description and how to sign up for it.
It is clear to see that there are already several public events that will be taking place in the North East across the coronation weekend, and with over two weeks still to go until the big day, expect more to pop up on the website before May 6.
There is still the option to organise your own Big Coronation Lunch in your local area. This can be done in a similar way, by visiting the website and putting in your details, so that a Big Coronation Lunch pack can be delivered directly to your door.
Moving away from the coronation day itself, there is also a Big Help Out organised for the week beginning the May 8, this involves people giving up their time to volunteer in their community, in order to celebrate the momentous occasion.
