Manure Thrown At National Security Adviser's Home Prompts Investigation

White House National Security Advisor Sullivan leaves a news briefing in Kyiv

An unidentified individual threw manure in front of national security adviser Jake Sullivan's home on Monday, prompting a response from the Secret Service and a bomb squad. According to a law enforcement official, the suspect tossed a small amount of manure from a car window, leading to a swift reaction from the Secret Service and Washington, D.C., police with a bomb squad on the scene.

While Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi did not confirm the substance as manure, he stated that they responded to a suspicious package near Sullivan's residence. The Metropolitan Police Department's Explosive Ordinance Disposal team arrived and deemed the area safe. The incident is currently under investigation.

Another law enforcement official confirmed to Politico that an investigation is ongoing. This incident follows a previous security breach last April when an intoxicated individual mistakenly entered Sullivan's home in the middle of the night. Sullivan managed the situation by instructing the intruder to leave and then promptly informed his Secret Service detail about the incident.
