Manuel Lanzini escapes unscathed after car crash by West Ham training ground

Manuel Lanzini was able to walk away from a car crash he was involved in on Thursday while travelling back to the West Ham training ground.

The midfielder was returning to the club’s Rush Green base following his time on international duty with the Argentina squad, when he was involved in the crash on the A12.

It is understood he was sat in the back seat of a chauffeur-driven car at the time of the accident.

Lanzini, 29, was able to walk away from the scene and underwent short medical checks after the emergency services arrived.

Fortunately for the player and West Ham, it is thought that he escaped any injury but he will likely require further tests before it is decided whether he can face Everton on Sunday.

The Toffees travel to London Stadium for the 2pm Premier League kick-off, before the Hammers host Lyon in their Europa League quarter-final first leg. Lanzini is already suspended for that match.
