Manuel Lanzini ‘a bit sore but okay’ after serious car crash, confirms David Moyes

David Moyes says Manuel Lanzini is “okay” after the West Ham midfielder was involved in a terrifying car crash on Thursday.

The Argentina international was in the back of his chauffeur-driven Mercedes when it crashed on the A12 on the way to West Ham’s Rush Green training ground.

Lanzini escaped without injury and, while there is some soreness and bruising, there is a chance he could feature against Everton on Sunday.

“I can’t tell you what happened because I wasn’t there and only got the information you boys have got,” said Moyes.

“The car went into a ditch off the road. He’s a bit sore but he’s okay.

“It was terrible. For any of us. We don’t want to go on too much about it. It happens in all walks of life. It happened to Manuel but he’s okay thankfully.”

The Hammers boss has also been given a boost with both Jarrod Bowen and Vladimir Coufal nearing a return.

“A chance that both could make it,” said Moyes. “Both did a bit of training over the international break so a chance both can be there. I’m not quite sure they are match ready yet. That’s my only concern.”
