A football fan was caught with drugs by an alert police dog who sniffed them out as he queued to get into a Sunderland home game.
Mansfield Town supporter Connor Robertson, 24, had six wraps of amphetamine in his wallet ahead of the teams’ FA Cup clash on Saturday, November 6.
Robertson, of Rushpool Close, Forest Town, Nottinghamshire, was charged with drug possession after forensic tests proved their illegality.

Prosecutor Paul Anderson told South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court : “Mr Robertson was going to the match at the Stadium of Light.
“He was part of the Mansfield contingent and because there’s dogs which are testing for drugs, they alert the police that there are potentially drugs on him.
“They pull him out and there are six wraps in his wallet that are proven to be amphetamine.”
Robertson, who has one previous conviction for a malicious communications offence six years ago, pleaded guilty to possession of the class B drug.
He represented himself in court and when asked if he wanted to comment in mitigation, he replied only: “No.”
Magistrates fined him £333, with £85 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
Mansfield won the match 1-0.
