Manolo Blahnik Group, the luxury shoemaker with Hollywood actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Zoe Saldaña among its fans, has revealed it will have a new London HQ after buying a Mayfair property.
A £35 million deal has been secured on 31 Old Burlington Street, a Grade I listed recently refurbished building, according to property news site CoStar.
The company, founded by Manolo Blahnik in London in 1970, declined to comment on the price.
But Kristina Blahnik, chief executive of the firm and the founder’s niece, told the Evening Standard: “The unique opportunity to make this investment marks an important milestone for our company as we set to move our headquarters to an iconic Georgian building in Mayfair.”
She added: “This part of London is very close to Manolo’s heart with his favourite tailor, Anderson & Sheppard, now our neighbour and the Royal Academy, where so much inspiration has been drawn from, within a few metres.”
Property agents CBRE and Knight Frank advised the vendor.
The private group, owned by the Blahnik family and based out of Marylebone, experienced sales growth of 65% in 2021, its most recent accounts show.
When the figures were published in September 2022 the company said: “Manolo Blahnik’s 50th anniversary year was a year of strong financial performance, international growth and global online development.”
