Manny Longelo’s debut, Armstrong Okoflex’s escape, Nathan Trott’s chance - West Ham loan latest

West Ham United currently have 11 players out on loan in teams across England, as well as Wales, Italy, Turkey and Denmark.

Of the 11, eight made appearances for their loan clubs over the weekend, including a debut for one and an assist for another.

Here is how those that are playing away from the London Stadium at present fared in a mixed weekend for West Ham’s loanees.

Nikola Vlasic (Torino)

Nikola Vlasic played for the duration of Torino’s 3-1 defeat to Serie A leaders Napoli on Saturday. The Croatian played as the attacking midfielder in a 3-4-1-2 formation behind Aleksey Mirancuk and Antonio Sanabria up front with the latter scoring Torino’s goal. Torino boss Ivan Juric was sent off in the closing stages of the defeat.

Arthur Masuaku (Bestikas)

Turkish side Besiktas missed the chance to go level on points with the division’s top four on Sunday after being held to a goalless draw by Fenerbahce. Arthur Masuaku started for the hosts, but was booked before being taken off in the final minutes of the time, a game that saw him start alongside former Southampton winger Nathan Redmond, who signed permanently for Besiktas earlier this season.

Nathan Trott (Vejle)

Having been stuck on the bench in his first three league matches for Danish second division side Vejle, Nathan Trott has now had his chance to impress. On debut before the international break, he kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Hobro IK. On Friday, Trott again was the goalkeeper, as Velje drew 1-1 with second place Hvidovre, with Vejle currently top of the league by one point.

Manny Longelo (Birmingham City)

There was a debut in the Championship at Birmingham City for Manny Longelo, who missed Birmingham’s first four league games there as he recovered from an ankle injury. Longelo was booked in the first half but played the duration of Blues’ 1-1 draw with league leaders Sheffield United.

Daniel Chesters (Colchester United)

Winger Daniel Chesters started in the U’s 2-1 defeat to AFC Wimbledon, but did provide the assist for Kwesi Appiah’s goal in the first half of the defeat in League Two. Chesters has started in Colchester’s last two matches, although both have ended in defeat, leaving them 21 st in the League Two table, only clear of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Mipo Odubeko (Port Vale)

Having linked up with Republic of Ireland’s under-21s squad in the international break, forward Mipo Odubeko made his fourth League One appearance for Port Vale on Saturday. He played the final 19 minutes off the bench during a 1-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, the first time he has tasted defeat in a league game for the Staffordshire side.

Armstrong Okoflex (Swansea City)

Winger Armstrong Okoflex played in the final 16 minutes of Swansea City’s 3-2 win away at West Bromwich Albion in the Championship on Saturday. Okoflex replaced the injured Matthew Sorinola, who opened the scoring, with the game being 2-2 before Michael Obafemi’s later winner. Okflex did however give away a penalty minutes after coming on, with Karlan Grant’s spot-kick saved by Steven Benda.

Jacob Knightbridge (Harrow Borough)

Jacob Knightbridge was in goal for Harrow Borough on Saturday in their 3-2 defeat to Dorchester Town. Harrow sit 16 th in the Southern League Premier Division South, having won just two of their ten league games this season.
