New Delhi: The mortal remains of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh were consigned to flames with full State Honours at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi on Saturday, reports Dynamite News correspondents.
Dr Singh passed away at 92 on Thursday night leaving every soul shocked and saddened.

All the three wings of the Armed Forces - Army, Air Force, Navy - accorded a Military Salute to the departed soul amid sad ambience at the Nigambodh Ghat.

The cremation ceremony was performed using sandalwood sticks and the last rites were done as per the Sikh rituals.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, LoP Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi were among the galaxy of dignitaries who attended the cremation of the former Prime Minister.

King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck also reached Nigamboadh Ghat to offer his last respects to Dr Manmohan Singh and attend the cremation of the departed leader.
Sonia Gandhi offered her last respects to Dr Manmohan Singh and attended his cremation here at Nigambodh Ghat.
Dr Singh's political career spanned several decades, with notable positions including Finance Minister from 1991 to 1996, during which he spearheaded economic reforms that transformed India's economy.
Dr Singh served as the 13th Prime Minister for two terms from 2004 to 2009 and from 2009 to 2014, succeeding Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His tenure is particularly remembered for his steady leadership during economic crises and his contributions to modernising India's economy.
