Manic Street Preachers are to play an exclusive intimate gig at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff as part of the upcoming BBC Radio 6 Music Festival in Wales.
The band, who'll be appearing at the iconic city centre venue for the first time ever, will perform the one-off show on Thursday, March 31. Featuring classic tracks from across their career, the gig will also be broadcast live on 6 Music and BBC Radio Wales from 7pm that same evening.

Available on BBC Sounds after broadcast, selected songs will be uploaded to watch at a later date on BBC iPlayer, with highlights also broadcast on BBC Wales and BBC Four. Other bands also playing the festival - which takes place between Friday, April 1, and Sunday, April 3, at a number of other venues such as St. David’s Hall and Tramshed - include Idles, Pixies, Johnny Marr, Father John Misty, Gruff Rhys and Cat Power, with DJ sets from the acclaimed likes of David Holmes.
Camilla Pia, 6 Music assistant commissioner and festival producer, said, " Manic Street Preachers are the kings of visceral and fiercely brilliant live performances.
"We’re used to watching them play in arenas, so I'm thrilled that they’re giving our listeners the opportunity to be part of what promises to be a very special and extremely intimate gig in Clwb Ifor Bach. Legend has it they were billed to play there early in their career but never did. 6 Music is honoured to be part of finally making that happen."
Manic Street Preachers' performance will be preceded by a warm-up night at Clwb on Wednesday, March 30, hosted by UK music legend Tom Robinson and BBC Radio Wales’ Bethan Elfyn and featuring performances from a host of burgeoning Welsh artists. Seventy five pairs of free tickets to attend the Manics' gig will be made available for fans and allocated at random via a BBC Studio Audience Services ballot. Audiences can register for the chance to get tickets by clicking here.
Registration is now open and closes at midnight on Sunday, March 20.
