A driver has been jailed after he mounted a pavement and drove his car at a group of people, with the shocking moment caught on camera.
Horrifying CCTV footage shows people fleeing as Alpacino Veii drove his car erratically into them.
Some can be seen jumping out of the way in fear as the 25-year-old's vehicle collided with one man and narrowly avoided hitting several others.
The car crashed into decking near the seafront in Brighton, before Veii drove along the pavement and into the central reservation where the car stopped.
A group of people could be seen chasing after the driver after he left behind a carnage in East Sussex.
Despite his attempts to get out and push the vehicle, Veii was swiftly arrested by cops and found to be in possession of cannabis and to only have a provisional licence.
Earlier, Veii was involved in a fight with three other men outside a restaurant after which he left and came back to the same place driving his Honda Civic.
Veii was sentenced to three years in prison for attempting to cause GBH with intent and 18 months in prison, to run concurrently, for driving dangerously.
He also received a concurrent one-day jail sentence for admitting possession of cannabis and was disqualified from driving for one year at Chichester crown court.
Det Insp Neil Phillips said: "This was a shocking escalation of an argument between a group of people that could easily have had tragic consequences for those involved and innocent members of the public.
"It is satisfying to see Alpacino Veii brought to justice for his reckless, dangerous attack and I would like to thank the victims and everybody involved in the investigation for their help in securing this sentence."
He was jailed on February 23 for the offences which happened in November 2019.
