Authorities are appealing for information following what they allege are a string of troubling break-and-enters in Sydney, two of which are allegedly of a sexual nature against elderly women.
At least five homes on Elsinore Street, Grace Crescent, Davies Road, and Norma Place, Merrylands were allegedly targeted by an armed intruder in the early hours of Thursday.
In a statement, authorities say the assailant broke into the homes between 4am and 6:20am. They further allege he produced a knife at one of the homes, where he attempted to sexually assault an elderly resident, and sexually touched another woman at a second home during the spree.
Both women are in their 80’s, NSW Police confirmed.

The man they are looking for has been described as being tall and slender with dark skin. He’s believed to be in his 20s. Police note he may have sustained a slight injury that is bleeding.
Images released by authorities show a man wearing a black hoodie and black sneakers, with a mouth covering.
An investigation by the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad is underway.
Anyone who lives in the Merrylands area is urged to contact police if their properties have been broken into. This applies even if nothing has been stolen, they stated.
Anyone with information about this incident is also urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
