A manhunt is today on for two robbers who stormed a Tyneside petrol station in an early morning raid on Monday.
The pair struck at Chirton Main Service Station in the Chirton area of North Shields at just after 3am.
Police say they threatened a member of staff at the garage, which is open 24 hours a day, before stealing cash.

This morning the garage remained cordoned off with police tape, while a forensics van and marked police car were parked outside.
Uniformed officers could also be seen knocking on doors at nearby homes.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: "Shortly after 3.15am today we received a report of a robbery at Chirton petrol station on Front Street, North Shields.
"It was reported two unknown men had forced entry to the premises and threatened staff before making off with a sum of money.
"An investigation has been launched and officers are in attendance at the scene."
Police are also appealing for witnesses.
The spokeswoman added: "Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately.
