Shola Shoretire is still searching for his first strike at Bolton Wanderers but the Manchester United loanee admits seeing his side continue to win remains to most important goal.
Shoretire made the step down to League One in January, signing on loan at Bolton for the remainder of the season as he looks to bridge the gap between under-21s and senior football. The 19-year-old made his debut in a 2-1 defeat at Derby county before featuring in five consecutive wins, although that run was ended at Wycombe last weekend.
And while there is no doubt around the University of Bolton Stadium that the teenager has been an astute signing, there is hope that goals will soon follow performances - not least from Shoretire himself.

“That was a great feeling, looking around and clapping the fans,” Shoretire told Bolton's in-house media of a thumping win against MK Dons. “It was a very good game. We did well to get another 5-0 and it was a great game to be part of. Even though I was coming off I was still happy to get that ovation.”
He added: “I’ve come close (to scoring)! The two penalties I won at Peterborough, Dion took them as a top scorer and to get the hat-trick, so I was happy for him. There are a lot of games left. The main focus is to win but a goal would be brilliant.
“That’s a big part of my game as well, not only scoring but creating chances and trying to get assists and helping the team to win because that’s the positron we’re in now. We need to just keep winning.
“If it’s me scoring the goals, or someone else, as long as we win that’s the main focus.”
