Manchester United youngster Charlie Savage is set to join Forest Green Rovers on loan before the January transfer window closes.
The Manchester Evening News revealed on Monday afternoon that the club were expecting the midfielder to leave on loan and it's now understood Savage is close to completing a loan switch to Forest Green for the rest of the season.
Sources have indicated the deal is not completed yet but that it's expected to go through before deadline day.

Forest Green, based in Gloucestershire, are currently bottom of League One, which is the third division of English football, but all parties are in agreement that a loan move away from United this January would be beneficial to Savage's progress.
Savage, 19, made his first-team debut as a late substitute in the Champions League against BSC Young Boys in December 2021.
The midfielder was also named on the bench for Ralf Rangnick’s final game in charge, a 1-0 defeat by Crystal Palace on the final day of last season, and has not featured in a competitive match day squad under Erik ten Hag.
Savage is contracted at Old Trafford until the summer of 2025.
