Alejandro Garnacho has created a stir after liking - then unliking - a tweet on social media that said he 'wasn't called up for Argentina because he's Spanish'.
Garnacho, 18, scored the winning goal for Manchester United against Fulham at Craven Cottage last weekend and the well-taken strike rounded off a perfect few weeks for the youngster, in which he took the chances that Erik ten Hag handed to him.
Although Garnacho has been in excellent form, his performances came too late to make the Argentina squad for the World Cup. The youngster was named in his nation's preliminary 55-man squad for Qatar but he failed to make the final 26-man squad.

There was also late hope for Garnacho to make Argentina's 26-man squad, with Joaquin Correa and Nico Gonzalez forced to withdraw through injury on Thursday, but the United academy graduate was not selected as a replacement for either player.
After that news emerged, Garnacho liked a tweet that said 'wasn't called up for Argentina because he's Spanish'. Although Garnacho has now unliked that tweet, the screenshot has already gone viral in the Argentinian and Spanish press.
Garnacho could have represented Spain, the nation where he was born, but he took the decision to join up with Argentina's Under-20s earlier this year, as his mother is Argentinian, despite previously playing for Spain's national team during his youth career.
After playing for Argentina's U20s, Garnacho had the opportunity to meet and have a photo with Lionel Messi.
The youngster came through Atletico Madrid's academy and joined United in the summer of 2020.
