Check out our 10/11 Manchester United vs West Ham prediction below
Manchester United's hopes of bagging that all-important fourth place in the Premier League are still well and truly alive after the Reds picked up a crucial three points down at Brentford in the week.
It wasn't pretty at times and it's fair to say that United rode their luck on a number of occasions but there was a freedom in some of their attacking play, especially in the second half, that has been missing for a while now.
Having floundered through the last month or so, Ralf Rangnick's side now have a real opportunity to kick on and make meaningful inroads in the top-four race if they can build on the west London victory back at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The layers favour United, unsurprisingly, but their 10/11 price with Grosvenor Sport is the biggest the Reds have been for this Premier League fixture this century. The Hammers are 29/10 to repeat their EFL Cup win at Old Trafford from earlier in the season.
United's biggest issue right now is surely their inability to prevent opposition calving out big chances and that is going to be a problem against a West Ham side that have scored at least twice in each of their last six matches.
West Ham looked unlucky to lose against Leeds last weekend given their superior xGF (2.70 compared to Leeds 2.10), a defeat that snapped a four-game winning run that put West Ham in pole position for the race for a Champions League spot, although Spurs are emerging as a major threat given their games in hand.
David Moyes' side have generally done well on the road this term but they have only kept one clean sheet away from east London since late October and have struggled for defensive solidity since losing Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma to injury at the backend of 2021.
Manchester United vs West Ham prediction
Games between these sides at Old Trafford have been fairly tight in recent years, indeed there have only been two goals in the last three Manchester meetings between these two.
However, West Ham games have been yielding plenty of goals of late (22 in last five league matches) and Manchester United just can't keep clean sheets at home (just one all season) so we might just get a more open game than we have become used to.
With that in mind, the 10/11 about both teams to score (yes) and over 2.5 goals looks reasonable value.
Recommended bet: Both Teams to Score (yes) and Over 2.5 goals - 10/11
