Manchester United Unveils Classic Blue Away Kit For 2024-25 Season

Premier League - Manchester United v Leicester City

Manchester United have unveiled their new away kit for the 2024-25 season, showcasing a return to a classic blue change strip. The kit, officially named 'Night Indigo,' is a departure from the previous season's murky green design, aiming to differentiate itself from the sky-blue hues associated with their cross-city rivals.

The inspiration for this latest offering draws from United's kits of the 1990s, a period when the club frequently featured blue-tinged alternative strips. The design includes a retro-styled all-over 'M' graphic woven into the fabric, paying homage to the embossed monogram detailing seen on popular United kits from that era.

The jersey also incorporates three light blue wavy lines on the collar, symbolizing the three rivers that flow through Manchester: the Irk, the Medlock, and the Mersey. Fans were quick to note similarities to the 'England one-day international cricket kit,' as images of the new kit surfaced on social media months prior to the official reveal.

The kit was showcased by current players such as Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw, Alejandro Garnacho, and Ella Toone, with the possibility that Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Casemiro, who may not be with the club in the future, could also be seen wearing it. The design aims to blend nostalgia with a modern twist, appealing to both traditionalists and contemporary fans of the club.
