The latest Nottingham Forest transfer news brought to you by NottinghamshireLive on June 16...
'Advanced' transfer talks
Nottingham Forest could be on the verge of signing Besiktas striker Cyle Larin.
The 27-year-old Canada international is leaving the Turkish club this summer after rejecting a new contract. His decision to leave has turned somewhat sour, with Larin deleting every picture related to Besiktas from his Instagram account. That reaction has led to Besiktas fans slamming the striker, calling him "ungrateful".
According to reports in Turkey, Larin will "sign for either" Forest or Olympiacos, with both clubs owned by Evangelos Marinakis. Talks between parties are said to be at an "advanced level" as the Canadian looks to secure the next chapter of his future.
Striker transfer stance
NottinghamshireLive understands though that Forest are not looking to sign Larin, who has seven goals and one assist to his name from 28 Super Lig appearances this term. Reports earlier today linked Forest - along with Evangelos Marinakis' other club, Olympiacos - with a move for the 27-year-old.
The Reds are understood to still be interested in Wolves forward Morgan Gibbs-White as well as Chelsea man Armando Broja. The pair, who could both be available for loan moves, are targets for the Reds as they prepare for the Premier League.
NottinghamshireLive also understands that Barnsley winger Callum Styles is no longer on the Reds' radar, whilst between the posts Franco Armani is not seen as an option this summer.
Garner transfer plan
Nottingham Forest are considering a permanent move for Manchester United midfielder James Garner in addition to interest in his Red Devils team-mate Dean Henderson.
Cooper is busy preparing his squad for the Premier League and life in the top-flight will feel a step closer when the Premier League fixtures are released on June 16. The transfer window has officially been open since June 10, but the Reds are yet to make any additions to their squad following promotion.
Cooper has been linked with moves for plenty of players, although the Reds will be unable to utilise the loan market as much as they have previously due to different temporary rules in the Premier League.
Klopp gets wish
Nottingham Forest will reportedly not play a match between Boxing Day and New Years' Eve with the Premier League to scrap the fourth festive fixture for this upcoming season.
Matches often played between the two days on or around December 28, which was matchweek 20 last season, are said to be being moved to elsewhere in the calendar due to the short turnaround for this year's World Cup. After pausing on November 13, the Premier League will return on December 26, only eight days after the final.
The scrapping of this round of matches is apparently to ease player burnout after the tournament. All will be revealed this morning when the top-flight fixtures are released at 9am.
