Manchester United training squad vs FC Barcelona confirmed with Antony injury boost

Antony and Harry Maguire took part in Manchester United first-team training on Wednesday ahead of playing Barcelona.

Erik ten Hag confirmed at his pre-match press conference that both players were expected to return for Thursday night's Europa League playoff clash at Old Trafford, which will decide who progresses to the next round of the competition.

Antony has missed the last four matches with a leg injury while Maguire was absent from the weekend's victory against Leicester with a knee problem, but both players are now set to be available to face Barcelona after returning to training.

However, Anthony Martial will not be available for the game and he did not take part in full training at Carrington. The forward has been sidelined for the last four weeks with a hip injury and he did light, individual ball work instead.

Marcel Sabitzer and Lisandro Martínez, who were both suspended for the first leg at Camp Nou, took part in full training, as expected. Academy graduates Kobbie Mainoo and Zidane Iqbal trained and are set to make the matchday squad again.

Robin van Persie, who was present at Ten Hag's press conference, was also pitchside and watched the training session.

United training squad ahead of Barcelona:

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Heaton, Butland, Bishop.

Defenders: Maguire, Dalot, Varane, Shaw, Martinez, Williams, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Malacia.

Midfielders: Casemiro, McTominay, Iqbal, Fred, Fernandes, Mainoo, Sabitzer.

Attackers: Antony, Elanga, Pellistri, Rashford, Weghorst, Garnacho, Sancho.

Barcelona will be without midfielders Pedri and Gavi at Old Trafford as the former is injured and the latter suspended.

Sergio Busquets could return, although he's not played since February 5 due to an ankle injury.
