Manchester United have sent scouts to watch young midfielder Otto Rosengren of Swedish side Mjallby, the club's sporting director has claimed.
The 19-year-old has two goals in three Under-21 caps for his country and is a regular for his Allsvenskan team, having played 37 first-team games since making his debut in November 2021. The teenager is also attracting interest from Danish and Dutch clubs.
Erik ten Hag is searching for a young midfielder this summer along with a marquee centre-forward. No official approach for Rosengren has been made although United scouts are said to have watched the youngster several times.

Mjallby sporting director Hans Larsson offered further detail about the situation surrounding the playmaker to Tipsbladet, explaining to what extent United have been in contact.
“There have been some Danish, English and a Dutch club looking at him. Viborg, AGF and Manchester United, among others, have been looking at him,” he said. “There is nothing concrete about him. There have been some rumours, and then several clubs have looked at him.”
Larsson added to Fotbollskanalen that he understands United representatives have been to watch him on a number of occasions, outlining: “I think it’s been several times actually, at least based on what they told me, but I haven’t met anyone.
“They have only contacted and said that they will come, because they want tickets. I don’t want to put too much pressure on Otto, but there have also been a couple of Danish and Dutch clubs who have been here.”
Asked whether he was confident that Mjallby could keep hold of Rosengren this summer, Larsson responded: “Yes, I think so, but you never know,” although gave a more coy reply to Tipsbladet.
He admitted: “I don’t know. We must wait and see. It’s his first year as a real first-team player in Allsvenskan, and I’m not so sure he wants to leave either. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
