Manchester United told why Declan Rice is worth more than Jack Grealish amid transfer talk

Declan Rice has been valued at a minimum of £100million by former England international Paul Parker.

The ex-Manchester United man believes Rice would be the "best signing for a long, long time," at Old Trafford and that Rice's consistency is key to his sustained success.

Rice has been in superb form for the Hammers and after a fine display against Manchester United last weekend links with Ralph Rangnick's side have once again surfaced. However, football.London understands that West Ham remain adamant the England man is not for sale and the club will reject any advances made for him.

David Moyes has valued Rice at "far, far more than £100million" previously, and Parker believes that this would be the minimum amount required to prise Rice out of the club thanks to the huge transfer fee Manchester City paid for Rice's England colleague Jack Grealish.

"He’s 100% what Manchester United need," Parker told BetfredTV. "You saw that at the weekend, exactly why Manchester United need him. He’s far better than any midfield player that Manchester United have got on their books at this moment in time.

"The problem is that, as I've said many times, he's not going to cost you £100million because he’s a far better player for any club, than Jack Grealish is for Manchester City. Man City paid over the top for Jack Grealish because you’re not getting that consistent player. Declan Rice plays the same week in, week out.

"Manchester United should sign him, but if I was Declan Rice I would say 'who else are you going to sign to complement me? Who else is going to complement me in that midfield? I can’t be coming to United and doing that amount of work.' And that’s what he’d have to do at this moment in time if he wants to go there."

Parker is not the only ex-player to be placing such a value on Rice's head with former West Ham captain Julian DIcks also using the Grealish comparison.

"I don't think anybody is worth £100million but Declan is such a good player and he just keeps everything simple. He is not one who beats four, five or six people he just keeps everything simple," Dicks told Stadium Astro.

"That is what the best players do, they keep things simple and Declan is just going to get better and better and better."

When pushed for a transfer value Dicks said: "Nowadays you would be saying £100million but the thing is if he stays here another season or couple of seasons and keeps performing as he is, his value will only go up."
