Manchester United told to ignore Gary Neville advice as they continue manager search

Simon Jordan has urged Manchester United to ignore the advice of their former captain Gary Neville as they continue their search for a new manager.

Neville has been critical of United's performances this season, though he's been just as outspoken on matters away from the pitch at his old club. With the managerial pursuit hotting up, Erik ten Hag remains the preferred candidate over Mauricio Pochettino.

Neville unleashed his latest rant on Saturday as United were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester City. However, Jordan does not believe the club should be listening to any advice he has to offer.

"Good advice is something you can never have too much of. But sometimes, you have to make a decision based off what you know to be the case, rather than other people parroting in your ear about half the facts they know," Jordan told talkSPORT.

"Gary Neville doesn't know all the facts. Gary Neville didn't get a memo sent to him saying 'you know everything, listen to me'.

"There's a backdrop to understanding Manchester United 20 years ago," he added. "There's a backdrop to understanding the antidote to Manchester United's problems now."
