Manchester United are reportedly due to sit down with the representatives of Milan Skriniar to see whether a January move could be on the cards.
The Inter Milan centre-back has been tentatively linked with a United move over the last few months with the 27-year-old a free agent this summer. The Slovakia international was key in his club’s 2020/21 title-winning Serie A campaign and last season’s cup double.
He’s been handed the captain’s armband in recent matches and has kept nine clean sheets this term, two of which came against Barcelona and Italian league leaders Napoli.

Media Foot reports United are set to speak with the agents of Skriniar to see whether a transfer would be more likely this month or in the summer. A move for the defender could force Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof to review their stay at United.
Meanwhile, Give Me Sport claims Joao Felix is ‘readily available’ for capture from Atletico Madrid. Felix scored in his first game back from the World Cup on what was his first start in La Liga since September.
However, the attacker wants to leave the club if the right offer comes along according to club CEO Gil Marin, who all but confirmed the reported rift between the player and boss Diego Simeone.
He explained: "For reasons it isn't worth getting into – the relationship between him and the boss [Simeone], the minutes played, his motivation right now – it makes you think that the reasonable thing is that if there's an option that's good for the player, good for the club, we can look at it.
"I'd love him to stay, personally, but I don't think that's the player's idea." United are searching for a striker this month with the loan market set to be utilised to find their man. Felix has been linked with an Old Trafford switch, although Atletico are said to still want a fee for a temporary move.
