Manchester United 'to make shock move' for Ben Brereton Diaz and more transfer rumours

Manchester United have been linked with a shock swoop for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

The Chile international has been in superb form since the start of last term. Since the beginning of the 2021/22 season, the 23-year-old has scored 35 goals for club and country.

Now, a report from 90min claims United are keen on signing the forward and are contemplating a January bid for a player whose contract at Ewood Park expires at the end of this season. The striker has reportedly told his current employers that he will not sign a new contract, meaning Rovers effectively need to cash in on him to avoid losing him for nothing at the end of the campaign.

The transfer would be a shock if United were to go ahead with it, with Brereton Diaz potentially seen as a different kind of option to their current raft of centre-forwards.

Meanwhile, United have been linked with a swoop for Sporting Lisbon youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

The Ghana international, 18, has broken into the first team this term and has quickly garnered attention from United as well as some of their top-flight rivals.

Portuguese media outlet O Jojo claim Everton and Liverpool are both keeping tabs on the youngster. He has featured eight times for Ghana and is in their provisional squad for this month's World Cup in Qatar.
