Manchester United are reportedly set to 'battle' Chelsea for the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this transfer window as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster his attacking options.
According to Football.London, Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring the former Arsenal captain to Stamford Bridge this summer, but now faces competition from United. Erik ten Hag's side are now believed to be considering making a move to bring the 33-year-old to Manchester before the transfer deadline on September 1.
Despite Aubameyang having only joined the La Liga side in January this year, he quickly settled in as he scored 11 goals in 17 league appearances for Barcelona last season. The signing of Robert Lewandowski this summer is believed to have opened the door for the former Gunner to leave the club - with United now said to be open to making a move for the player.

Elsewhere, Mundo Deportivo report (via TeamTalk ) that Barcelona's Sergino Dest has no intention of leaving the Spanish club this summer despite United's interest in the player.
Ten Hag managed the player during his time at Ajax and recent reports had linked United with a move for the right-back. Following Ethan Laird's loan move to Queens Park Rangers, the club currently only have Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as right-back options for the season.
It is believed that Xavi has made it clear to the player that he will not be getting first-team football at the La Liga side, as Barcelona look to offload more players to reduce their wage bill. In a World Cup year, United will be hoping that lure of a starting place at Old Trafford can convince Dest to make the move this summer.
