Manchester United suffer injury blow and Christian Eriksen doubt ahead of Tottenham and Chelsea

Manchester United have received a big injury blow ahead of Wednesday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur. It's a big week for United, who face two London-based top-four contenders in the space of four days, with the Red Devils facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

However, it's a showdown with Antonio Conte's Spurs first up in a mouth-watering tie at Old Trafford on Wednesday. United are currently seven points behind Tottenham, having played a game less - but they've only lost one of their last seven league games, which was to Manchester City.

A win for Spurs would be a real statement victory as they look to close the gap to Arsenal at the top of the table to just one point.

Tottenham will be hoping to take advantage of a United side that will be without Anthony Martial. The forward, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla, has scored two goals and claimed two assists in just 104 minutes of Premier League action so far this campaign.

The Frenchman missed the goalless draw against Newcastle United on Sunday with a back injury, and he'll also be unavailable for the visit of Spurs. Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen may be denied the chance of playing against his former club, with the ex-Spurs midfielder a doubt after missing out against Newcastle.

"Anthony Martial is not available," Ten Hag said. "He's back on the pitch but not in the team training.

"Christian Eriksen returned in the team training today, and we have to see how that works out, how he will recover if he has the energy tomorrow, so we have to wait for that."
