Manchester United have stepped up interest in Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda amid doubts over the long-term future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to reports.
Spanish starlet Fresneda has attracted interest from a number of Premier League teams during what has been a brilliant breakthrough season in La Liga. The 18-year-old has become a regular starter since his September league debut, starting 12 times across all competitions.
Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund both reportedly bid £13million for the teenager in January, with both approaches knocked back, while Newcastle United are also regularly credited with their own interest. But according to Football Insider, it is United who are laying the groundwork to secure a deal before the summer window opens.

The interest comes amid earlier suggestions that the club will likely offload Wan-Bissaka, despite the 25-year-old's recent resurgence since the World Cup. United are reported to value their right-back at around £22million and are confident of having their demands met, given the interest from several top-flight clubs in January.
Elsewhere, reports in Spain suggest the Reds will 'go with everything' in the summer to sign Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou - more commonly known as 'Bono'.
Erik ten Hag is expected to bring in a goalkeeper come June, given Jack Butland is only on loan until the end of this season. David de Gea's current contract also runs out in the summer, although an extension is under discussion with both parties seemingly confident they can come to an agreement.
Nevertheless, Ten Hag is said to be eyeing a future first-choice goalkeeper with the idea to allow them a season to bed in before potentially succeeding De Gea. And Fichajes reports that the Dutchman is a big fan of Sevilla and Morocco shot-stopper Bono.
The 31-year-old impressed as his country became the first African side to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar, conceding just one goal prior to that 2-0 defeat against France. Contracted with the Spanish side until 2025, Bono the report adds that the goalkeeper has a release clause 'close to €50million', with Sevilla having no intention of selling their player.
