Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo receives cheeky 'offer' from Serie A side Udinese

Serie A club Udinese have cheekily asked Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo if he would like to join them in a post on social media.

Andrea Sottil's men have made an impressive start to the campaign and currently sit third in the Serie A table after picking up 16 points from their opening seven games.

Udinese will be hoping to maintain their current form over the course of the season and secure European football for next season, with the Italian club taking advantage of their solid start by suggesting Ronaldo should return to Italy in a social media conversation started by goalkeeper Marco Silvestri.

Italian goalkeeper Silvestri responded to a post on Instagram discussing Ronaldo's ambitions by tagging the Reds star and asking him to join Udinese.

The club were quick to react to this and later posted an image of the Instagram post on their Twitter account, while also adding some cheeky emojis to support the invitation.

Ronaldo expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford in the summer in search of Champions League football, but the Portuguese legend failed to secure a move away from United.

The 37-year-old has started just one Premier League game for Erik ten Hag's side so far this season, with his only goal of the campaign coming in the Reds' Europa League win over Sheriff Tiraspol.

Ten Hag has opted for Marcus Rashford in a central striker role so far this term, with Anthony Martial currently sidelined through injury.

Ronaldo, who recently stated that he plans to play for his country at the Euros in 2024, is likely to feature for Portugal in their upcoming Nations League matches against the Czech Republic and Spain.
